Essential steps to complete before securing ownership in a luxury residence, ensuring the process is efficient and fully compliant.
FIRST STEPS

FIRST STEPS
Compliance Made Simple: What Every Member Must Complete
1. Wholesale Investor Certification
Why it’s required
The Sanctuary Collection is available exclusively to individuals who qualify as wholesale investors under the Financial Markets Conduct Act. Certification confirms you meet the legal definition—whether through financial experience, assets, or income.
How it works
You’ll complete a Wholesale Investor Certificate, signed by an authorised adviser, accountant, or lawyer.
A certificate is required for each new limited partnership.
Certificates are generally valid for two years, but we must have one for every property offer.
2. AML / KYC (Anti-Money Laundering / Know Your Client)
Why it’s required
New Zealand law requires us to verify identity, address, and source of funds. This protects all Members and ensures investments are legitimate.
How it works
We complete AML/KYC once when you join. Equiti Capital partners with APLYiD, a secure digital verification provider, so the process is discreet, fast, and smartphone-enabled.
You’ll receive a secure link to:
Scan and verify your passport or driver licence
Confirm your residential address
Provide source of funds information
You only need to repeat this if your documents expire, your circumstances change, or a scheduled refresh is due (typically every 2–3 years).
3. What This Means for You
Joining as a Member → AML/KYC completed digitally via APLYiD.
Investing in a new property → Only a new Wholesale Investor Certificate is needed (unless an AML refresh is due).
Ongoing membership → We’ll securely keep your membership details up to date. Any personal information you provide to APLYiD isn’t stored by us, and we’ll only reach out if updates are needed.
Our goal is to keep the process simple, discreet, and efficient. With APLYiD, identity verification takes just minutes, and Wholesale Certification is a straightforward step in finalising your property commitment.
